Jean Tresfon Underwater Photography

Jean Tresfon

Nauticam SA leader Jean Tresfon

Jean is a marine conservation photographer, working both to protect our amazing and diverse coastal habitats from destruction through poaching, pollution and illegal fishing and using stunning and unique imagery to inspire more people to both visit and conserve these beautiful wild places. Flying and photographing from his gyrocopter he conducts regular marine survey flights along the Cape coast, assisting numerous marine scientists with whale counts, shark surveys, fisheries patrols and of course capturing unusual animal behaviour. He also dives and photographs underwater in a range of diverse habitants from oceans to mountain lakes, rivers to flooded mines and underwater caves. Jean’s stills work has featured in numerous local and international publications including Getaway, GO!, Ocean Geographic, High Life, Wild, Sail & Leisure, Africa Geographic as well as in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year and the Underwater Photographer of the Year competitions. He has also shot footage for Homebrew Films, Earth Touch, WAG TV, and Wild Oceans among others.
